A Broken Promise to Protect and Serve.
Six to 6 is a story based on true events about an innocent young woman who was brutally victimized by Los Angeles Police Officers. This is a story of underdogs battling behemoths amidst a brutally rigged system seeking an elusive thing called justice.
Most police officers risk their lives in a dangerous job and are never involved in assaultive behavior. Sometimes men that are sworn to protect go rogue. Sometimes they are punished for their bad behavior. Sometimes they are given a slap on the wrist for the greater good of the department. Sometimes bad police officers are protected by powerful people.
About the Author
Lenita was a married mother of two and a dedicated elementary school libratian in the city of Detroit in her adult life. After divorcing, she went to law school at night to become a divorce attorney because she wanted to help others facing similar struggles. After her first year of law school, Lenita and her sons moved to Los Angeles to start a new life.
Life wasn't easy in California supporting herself and two children while attending law school. But she persevered passed the Bar exam and embarked on a successful 30-year career as an attorney. While practicing law, Lenita served as a Judge (Pro Tempore) in Compton, CA for one year. She also hosted a radio talk show in the 90s. In addition she taught night law classes at West Los Angles Community College for nearly a decade.
When faced with a serious illness, Lenita made the difficult decision to return to Detroit. Recovering from her illness she applied her skills to new endeavors. She worked as a marketing manager and was a part time vegan chef at a popular restaurant in the city. Lenita continues to inspire those around her with her resilience and determination.
